Tips for updating Linux to the latest version for ODROID-XU4

Posted by Lisa Park on

When you first boot up the ODROID-XU4 with Linux, it will be turned off automatically for system con-figuration. You need to turn it on again by pressing the power button or unplug and plug the power cable. The OS uses about 5GB of storage space, so keep this in mind when selecting an OS storage capacity.

System default login:  Username : odroid           Password : odroid

Open a terminal and type the below commands:
sudo apt update
sudo apt upgrade
sudo apt dist-upgrade
sudo apt install linux-image-xu3
sudo reboot

  • We don’t have 17.04 yet. You just need to do this when you update the system, even for the minor update.

  • Is this for new installations, or can it be used to update from Ubuntu 16.04 to 17.04?
